Kimberly Ann Moss is an author, storyteller, mother, and one of the creative voices behind Dorado Books. Her writing is rooted in a simple belief: stories can entertain us while still leaving us with something worth thinking about.

Through children’s fiction, family stories, and thought-provoking historical fiction, Kimberly creates characters who ask questions, make mistakes, love deeply, learn from one another, and sometimes discover that growing up has just as much to do with understanding the world as it does with understanding yourself.

Her work includes A Day at School, a warm and deeply human historical novel that explores what can happen when children begin asking questions the adults around them can no longer ignore, and Little Miscreants, a playful children’s series centered around five unforgettable siblings learning about family, responsibility, consequences, love, and life—usually while getting into a little trouble along the way.

As a mother, Kimberly understands that children notice far more than adults sometimes realize. They listen. They watch. They question. And every now and then, they teach us something we thought we already knew.

That understanding lives at the heart of her writing.
